We have arrived!!

I tell ya what…that was a long day of traveling!! We managed to get to India without a hitch – no bags lost, no problems getting through security! High-five to us.
One piece of advice when traveling to strange countries – go with an open mind and no expectations! I left Iowa feeling nervous about a layover in Qatar and the 14 hour flight to get there – turns out not only do they have a state-of-the-art airport, but great service on their airline! Good food, nice friendly employees. And the airport was halfway a snazzy mall that you would find somewhere in NYC. Stores like Gucci, Tiffany, and Swarovski…you name it! It was a very pleasant experience, besides the fact that I was starting to feel like a walking zombie from the long flight.
So, now we are in recovery stage. I think I’ve been awake with spotty sleep for a good 48 hours. We arrived in Goa at 5 in the morning and we made it our goal to get through the day, no naps!! So far so good. And I don’t think our instructors could have picked a better place for us to adjust to jet-lag!! I’ll let the pictures speak for themselves.
I suppose I can put up with this for a day or two! It will be quite a different story next week when we are scooped up by our Indian hosts from Dharwad.

Notice the cooling towel I received upon arrival. 🙂

Oh yeah…also received a fresh coconut to drink from. Tasty!

Does this look like breakfast? I’m not 100% sure what everything is, but it was delicious!

What a beautiful sight!

Some interesting flora here!

Delicious! Rich and velvety.
